Phrases for Phases
When faced with different phases of my life, I would always create a life motto that described where I am and what I want to do. My Phrases for Phases outlines the Chapters of my life:
“Let’s focus on me…”, I told myself as I tip-toed out of the dark lonely closet.
“Let’s explore the world!” guided my adventures in Japan and Asia.
“Let’s be...

Recurring Nightmare
It used to be zombies and interpreted it as feeling helpless. Now it’s people trying to kill me. Dream Dictionary says:
To dream that you are murdered… You are trying to disconnect yourself from your emotions… The dream may also be about your unused talents.

San Franniversary
July 13, 2011 marks my one year since moving to SF from Washington DC.
Signs of Californication:
When in DC, I would party in NYC or visit friends in Philly. Now, I’m always in LA and Las Vegas!! I visited Hawaii for the first time, and plan on going again!
I’m slowly getting over my “Suburbaphobia” since the Bay Area’s burbs are actually very Urban and/or...

NY Passes Gay Marriage
“Their love is worth the same as your love. Their partnership is worth the same as your partnership. And they are equal in your eyes to you. That is the driving issue.” -Governor Cuomo of NY
Everytime a battle is won for gay rights, I cry. Sometimes, they are tears of joy, like when I was living in Washington DC and the city passed legalized gay marriage. Couples lined up to get married at city...

Tree vs. Onion
Thinking about my life analogy that every year is like an onion with multiple layers. but I don’t like saying onion because of the bad breath it gives you. So I say tree.
Life is like a tree with many many layers. You can look back at them and see the years where you’ve grown most. Other years were a little tougher on you. Some years there was lots of rain, and others lots of shine.

Lost
I don’t feel so lost, but I do feel…
There is only one episode to go, and then…
It’s memorial day weekend.

Back to Chicago...
I just booked a flight to Chicago at the end of June for work. I am way excited to be home! And there is no better summer than in Chicago!
Everytime you go home, it challenges you to think about how much you’ve changed. And boy is life different!

Home Sweet Home
– The meaning of Home Sweet Home
I remember when i was studying abroad in Japan I would travel a lot. I lived in a Chiba University dormitory in the suburbs of Tokyo. My train stop’s name was “Inage Station”. I took 3 trips to the Philippines, a 4-country backpacking trip across...
A 5-Chapter Story for my 6 Months in DC
Chapter 1: Goodbye Chicago
The story starts as I leave my hometown, Chicago, for the first time.
Tomoya and I biking around Chicago (Tom is a friend from Japan)
Saying by to the good people at AARCC
My last hour in DC spent with old friends in my “new” room (I don’t have a room in my house anymore)
Saying bye to the Grandthings and our new cat, Hin-chan

Today's Three thoughts
How is social fabric created? How do you get woven into it? What if all the threads don’t match?
I LOVE Jack Shepard and am waiting for Lost to vindicate the guy and myself.
Washington DC has just BEGUN! From this week on, everything is different yet again.
3 Thoughts for the week
1. Maybe it’s that I had a great trip to SF, or maybe it’s the fact that I’m finally regimenting my life, or maybe because I’m halfway done with a 1-year position, but I’ve had the MOST productive week of my life.
2. I love Midwesterners! Especially cute boys on bikes in the heart of winter.
3. Leadership. Leadership. Leadership.
I'm 23... Whatever that means!
Yes, one of THOSE facebook statuses only capable of appearing during the age when you can update your Facebook Status via text message and during the state of cixotation.

I’m in my early twenties for only 8 more months. I’m 23 and knowing what that means is knowing where I am in this pursuit of happiness.
Time to song write!
3 Thoughts Into Feb
A new month!
1. This is going to be a crazy month. I have friends coming into town, a million things to do at work, and I’m traveling to San Francisco for Valentine’s Day Weekend. And most important of all, the final season of Lost is starting.
2. I’ve become so gay. If it weren’t for my few straight guy friends in DC, I would never experience DC straight nightlife....

I Am A Democrat
I consider my search for identity as a wheel that turns slowly. At one point, I am focusing on my identity as an Asian American. The wheel turns and then I spend a year contemplating how American I am. Or how gay I am. Or how Midwestern I am.
Knowing myself come in handy in every situation. It’s only by knowing and challenging yourself that you can know what you can do.Now the wheel has...

My 3rd Month In
This weekend marks my 3rd month in Washington, DC.
I’m still fascinated by the people and places in this town. I’ll be riding my bike to work, turn my head to look for traffic when I cross an intersection, and my eyes will catch a glimpse of something amazing. It might be the view of the Washington Monument from all over town, or the White House down 16th Street, or the many statues...
Seasons GLEEtings!
It took me 3 days to come up with the name of our Party to watch the Season Finale of Glee. After tossing and turning at night, after day dream rhyming, and after googling malleable holiday phrases, I finally came up with a clever name for our party. I thought about this for 3 days straight!!
“Seasons GLEEtings” eveyone! Being clever makes the world more fun!

Ranting about Turning 23
What if 23 is not as fun as 22?
Me, Mimosa, and Sarong on my porch in DC
22 was like being 21 for me. I know it’s confusing, but simply put, I was in Japan when I was 21, so the last year I have been running around like I just turned legal. It was a blast!
22 was my last year of college so the opportunist in me made sure I had a blast. 22 was the year I realized how to be smart. I got...
I like this too. I think the girls were more creative and cute, but the guys were hot. especially the Asian one. Boys shoulda won!

Hello Tumblr, Goodbye Chicago
I’ve left Chicago once before. I studied abroad in Japan for a year. While I can’t say it was the best year of my life because I’ve had so many, I can say that it was the easiest lifestyle of my life. It was peaceful, it was pleasant, I lived like a king in a small Japanese-sized dorm room.
In two days I leave my hometown, the beautiful Chicago for Washington DC. I remember the...
